Jared Kemling
Jared is just old enough to have had a CD collection as a teenager—and ever since he first got his hands on Queen’s Platinum Collection, he’s had a go-to answer for that paralyzing question: “What is your favorite band?” After a year or two playing rock music in clubs as a high-school student, he decided that the academy would be more comfortable than a sweaty tour bus, and he became a philosopher—so that was probably the right choice . . . right?
Jared is the editor of The Cultural Power of Personal Objects: Traditional Accounts and New Perspectives, (SUNY Press, 2021), as well as the forthcoming Queen and Philosophy: Guaranteed to Blow Your Mind (Carus Books, 2022). He has also served as an editor for a number of academic journals, and currently edits for Eidos. A Journal for Philosophy of Culture. Jared is a Fellow of the American Institute for Philosophical and Cultural Thought. His work has appeared in a number of journals, and he has presented at conferences across the United States. Jared is a longtime fan of the Pop Culture and Philosophy series, and is excited to be a part of it.
