Randall E. Auxier
Randy is a full time professor of communication studies and philosophy at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is a part-time enthusiast of the big and little screens, along with music, baseball, and a host of popular culture diversions. He thinks too much. But it is a vice he shares with many movie fans, and he likes to trade observations with anyone and everyone who finds popular culture intellectually interesting. He has written some boring books you wouldn’t care about, but among those that you might find interesting are Metaphysical Graffiti: Deep Cuts in the Philosophy of Rock, and as co-editor and contributor, Tom Petty and Philosophy, The Wizard of Oz and Philosophy, and Bruce Springsteen and Philosophy. He has a spouse, some cats and sometimes runs for political office to spice things up a bit. He likes wine, plays bass, and has a serious and untreatable book problem.
